The updated Parks/Rec/ Master Plan will be presented at the November 29th CSC meeting.

An Oakville ward boundary review is currently underway as we plan for the 2014 municipal election. Dr. Robert Williams has been retained as the consultant on this project.
As a result of population growth, Oakville's existing wards vary significantly in population and in the number of electors. Projected growth, particularly in north Oakville, will increase the current discrepancies. A ward boundary review is both timely and important to local democracy in Oakville.
public information meetings will take place on:
Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 7 p.m., Committee Rooms 1 and 2, Town Hall
Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 7 p.m., Committee Rooms 1 and 2, Town Hall
Based on the input received, a preliminary report addressing ward boundary options will be presented to the Administrative Services Committee on November 15, 2011.
Further consultation and public meetings will be held early in 2012 and a final report and recommendations presented to Council after these meetings.
Current Ward System
Oakville's current six ward system has been in place since 1990. Two councillors are elected in each ward, one local, and one local and regional who serves on both town and regional council. A history of ward boundary reviews is available in the May 25, 2011 report from the Clerk's department.
The website is now up and more information will be added as it is available: http://www.oakville.ca/wardreview.htm

OMB Decision 74/76 Trafalgar Road- Ward 3

While it took a long time to get issued (hearing ended Feb 9, 2011), the Town was successful in having the minor variance application denied which was to permit an apartment building with associated variances at the property located at the corner of Robinson St. and Trafalgar Road. Congratulations to Charlie McConnell and Sue Schappert who provided evidence on behalf of the Town and everyone else in Planning, Building and Zoning who assisted in putting the case before the Board.
